The Tasmanian Land Conservancy is a not-for-profit, apolitical, science and community-based organisation that raises funds from the public to protect irreplaceable sites and rare ecosystems by buying and managing private land in Tasmania.

“The Protected Areas Collaboration (PAC) provides the avenue for the Tasmanian Land Conservancy to contribute to and learn from global best practice in nature conservation through science, innovation, collaboration and open communication with the region. The strength of the PAC is centred on organisations coming together to contribute to and achieve shared objectives”

- James Hattam, Tasmanian Land Conservancy CEO

The Blue Mountains World Heritage Institute is an independent, not-for-profit Institute set in The Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area of Australia - an awe-inspiring natural and cultural landscape of over a million hectares.

“The Protected Areas Collaboration advances the mission of the Blue Mountains World Heritage Institute to deliver strategic and responsive programs that build capacity and leadership in conservation. These programs will approach conservation challenges as problems to solve together, in respectful and inclusive ways, recognising the importance of different types of knowledge and learning approaches. Importantly, the Collaboration is based on partnerships that can broaden and deepen our collective understanding and help drive innovation in protected area conservation regionally.”

- John Merson, BMWHI Director
